What is Convertkit?
Convertkit is an online email marketing service
And email marketing service is something that you need to use if you want to have an email list
Having your own email list is definitely something that I recommend having
Email list is basically your list of subscribers that have given you their email address
And Convertkit is one of the most popular email marketing services out there
And I have used it for at least a year
And I do have experience with other email marketing services
And in this review, I will try to be as honest as I can about Convertkit
I will talk about the good things about it
And the bad things about it
And then I will come to a conclusion with my overall thoughts about convertkit
So I will be trying my best to keep it real with you guys
So let’s just get started
The good
I will start this blog post in a positive way and talk about the good things first
But believe me i do have some bad things to say about Convertkit
Easy to use
This is the best thing about Convertkit it is extremely simple to use
And that is because one of Convertkit’s main goals is to create an email marketing service that is easy to use
So that their users which are most of the time content creators bloggers,youtubers, etc.
Can focus on what they do best which is creating content
This makes this the perfect email marketing service for a lot of people

They even have a WordPress plugin
This means that once you have connected your convertkit account with your wordpress website
Anything that you can create in convertkit you can put on your website
By just copying and pasting a small line of code
And i am pretty sure that it is the easiest email marketing service out there
Affiliate marketing
They allow affiliate marketing
Which is something like other email marketing services like mailchimp prohibit aka don’t allow
As long as you are not only sending affiliate links or other things related to affiliate marketing to people
and you are sharing your own content and your own products etc.
Convertkit will allow affiliate marketing
Which is pretty cool for me because I like affiliate marketing
The bad
Okay now we are going to talk about the bad things about Convertkit
And the first thing that comes to mind
Is the price
Now when you first start using Convertkit you can get a free 14 day trial
But once your email list starts to grow and your 14 day trial ends
You are going to be paying a decent amount of money
And the price will depend on how large your email list is and your plan
The larger your email list the more amount of money you will have to spend on Convertkit
But it is kind of understandable because there is a lot of earning potential from your email list
And if you are good at email marketing then you are basically going to be earning more then you are losing from Convertkit
But there are still some cheaper email marketing services out there
So I thought I should mention this
Getting your account approved
Now this is a new thing
But let me explain
I have been using Convertkit for about a year and I have been enjoying it so far
And I decided to create a new Convertkit account for this website
And I noticed that i could not send emails because email sending was disabled for my account
So I thought okay how can i get my account approved?
I had to answer about 10-20 questions about my website and what i was planning on doing with my email list with actual convertkit employees
And they did not always respond within minutes they usually responded one hour or 2 hours later
And I either did not have the time or the patience to always wait for the answers from the employees
So it took me 3-4 days to get my account approved
Which is kind of a disgusting and boring waiting period
It’s not like I am ordering something from amazon I am just creating an account
And I thought to myself is this normal??
Can I recommend convertkit for my readers if it actually takes this long to get your account approved?
Because a couple of months ago or a year ago
You did not have to go through this process
Your account was just ready to go and you did not have to speak to actual employees and wait 3-4 days
And maybe they have a good reason why they want to manually approve every single convertkit account for email sending
But goddamn is it a boring and a frustrating process
So I decided to create a couple of new convertkit accounts
Because you can create free convertkit accounts
And I found out that you always have to go through this process
You always have to speak with convertkit employees
And you have to give them good explanations about your website and what you are planning to do with your email list in the future
And wait at least 2-4 days
That kind of made me have second thoughts about convertkit
Because yeah sure once you get through this process and your account is approved
You never have to do it again and Convertkit is still a good email marketing service overall
But I thought that my readers should at least know about this
And I am really unsure about my future with Convertkit
Conclusion
In conclusion, my overall thoughts about Convertkit is
That it is a fantastic email marketing service that is really easy to use
It is also okay with affiliate marketing as long as your not only focusing on affiliate marketing
But the account approval process is awful and something that I really dislike
And Convertkit can also end up being really expensive but I guess it is worth it
