How to create pinterest pins

Hello and welcome 🙂

In this blog post I am going to show you how to create beautiful Pinterest pins

We will be using Canva to create our beautiful Pinterest pins for this tutorial

What is Canva?

Canva is an online editing tool/graphic design platform

It allows you to use millions of professional stock photos

And it also allows you to edit those stock photos however you like as you can on the picture

It is probably the best software that you can use if you want to use professional pictures for your social media and blog

And can also knows what size pictures works best for each social media

Which makes Canva so comfortable to use

Because you don’t have to worry about spending a ton of time editing a picture

Only to upload it and find out that people can only see 20% of your picture

You won’t have that problem if you are using Canva

I use Canva for literally everything

I use it for my website,my Pinterest page and also for my Facebook page

Canva is awesome and i highly recommend using it

The only downside that i can think of is that the free account is not that good and you won’t have access to all of the things

But i have an premium account anyways because i think it’s worth it

Step 1 Select the pinterest template

Okay once you have created your Canva account

You just need to be on the homepage and type pinterest in the search bar

And Canva will give you a two good size options for your Pinterest pins

Which is either 1000×1500 or if you want to have your pinterest pin larger 1080×1920

I am just going to select the 1000×1500

And now Canva will give you thousand of stock photos

That you can use for your Pinterest pin and that are also in the 1000×1500 size

You can also just select the blank template and start editing your pin from scratch

But i am just going to select this picture

But you can select whatever you want it really does not matter

Just make sure that you select something

Okay now that we have selected our picture

We can edit it to make it look however we want

And editing thing on Canva is super easy

If you want to move something just click on it and drag it

If you want to type something just click and start typing

Or drag a text from the left side of your screen and then start typing

And if you want to change the color of something just click on that thing

And the color option will appear on the top of your screen

And if you want to change the color of your background

Just click on the background and then you will get the color option

This is what i created

I know it’s nothing crazy

But it looks somewhat professional and it is good enough for this tutorial

I will be completely honest designing pinterest pins is not my strong suit and it is something that i am working on

But once you have edited your pinterest pin and you like how it looks

Then you just need to download it

And to do that you need to go to the top right corner of your screen and click on the share button

And then click on download

And then make sure that it is in the right size which is 1000×1500 and then click on download again

And now your pinterest pin is ready and we just need to post it

Step 2 Posting your Pinterest Pin

Now that we have finished editing our Pinterest pin and we are happy with how it looks

It is time to post our pin on pinterest

So just go to your Pinterest account

I am assuming that you already have an pinterest business account (it is free)

And once you are on the Pinterest homepage just go to the top left corner of your screen and click on the create button

And then click on the create pin button

First thing that we need to do is upload the picture that we just created on Canva

And you can either drag it or just click on the upload button and click on your file

Add your title

This is where you can enter in the title for your pinterest pin

It is a good idea to use some keywords in your pinterest title so you have a higher chance of reaching people

If you are not already reasearching keywords to put in your title then you are missing out on a lot of potential reach

And if you are not doing that for your blog post titles then your website is probably on page 968 on google

Tell everyone what your pin is about

Here you can give your pinterest pin a description

I recommend explaining your pinterest pin as well as you can

While making it interesting enough to make people want to click on your pin

And also have a couple of keywords in there

But your description does not need to be super complex

Add a destination link

Here you can put your link

If you are creating a pin for your blog post then you obviously want to put a link to your blog

But maybe you are creating something for affiliate marketing then you want to put your affiliate link there

And then in the top right corner

You can select what pinterest board you want your pin to be posted to

And then once you have completed all of these steps just click on the publish button
