You want your website to be the first one that pops up
So that you can get that nice free traffic to your website
We don’t want our website to be ranked on page 987 on google
Because think about it when was the last time you ever went on page 2 on google?
What is seo?
SEO stands for search engine optimized
And we want our website to be well optimized for the google search engine
So in other words we want our website to have good google seo
And in this blog post I will teach you easy steps that you can take today
To make your website better optimized for the google search engine
Getting your website to rank high in the google search will take a lot of time and a lot of work
But nothing that is worth having ever comes easy
And that does not give you an excuse to neglect google seo
Because that is what a lot of people do when they are new to blogging
And they end up regretting it
Because they missed out on a lot of potential free traffic
This is a mistake that I made when I first started blogging

Install Yoast SEO
This is the best WordPress plugin when it comes to google seo
It is so good that there is a good chance you already have this plugin installed
This plugin will tell you whether your blog post is optimized or not
By rating your blog post by smiley faces
If your blog post is well optimized for google seo then you will get a green smiley face
But if your blog post is not good for google seo then you will get a red sad face
It will also allow you to make some other edits to improve your google seo
like changing your links and the meta description etc.
Basically the only wordpress plugin that you will need for google seo
And if you have not already installed it please do
Research keywords
Researching keywords is a great way to increase your chances of having your website ranking higher
And you can do this by using websites like ubersuggest to look up keywords and finding out how many times are people are searching for that keyboard a month
It is a good idea to research your keywords properly
Because you don’t want to use keywords that only 5 people are searching for
And you don’t want to have keywords that 150,000 people are searching for
Because then that keyword will be oversaturated and you will be competing against million dollar companies
I think it is a good idea to find keywords that are somewhere in the 1000-10,000 searches a month
If you don’t like ubersuggest to research your keywords
Then here are a couple of more websites that you can use
Alt text for images
Personally I am not sure how effective this is for google seo
But I have seen a lot of google seo experts and other bloggers mention this
For example this picture is from a well known google seo website (ahrefs)
So there must be something to it
This is basically putting in alternative text for your pictures in case your picture will not load up
Which is actually a smart thing to do anyways because maybe your pictures won’t load up for some weird reason
Some people claim that if you put keywords in the alternative text that there is a higher chance that you will rank higher for those keywords
So that is pretty much why I am putting this in my list
Having a high bounce rate
What is a bounce rate?
It is something that is used to keep track of how long people are actually staying on your website
If you have a high bounce rate
Which means that people are on average not staying on your website for longer then 2-3 seconds
It will hurt your chances of being ranked higher in the google search engine
Because google will think that your site is either unprofessional or misinformative
It is basically a big red flag for google if people are not staying on your website for long
There are a couple of things that you can to do to prevent this
The best advice that I can think of is having a fast website
Make sure that your website is using a good web hosting service like bluehost
And that your website is actually fast
Because if your website takes 2-4 seconds to load up
Then a lot of people will leave even before your website fully loads
Because it is 2022 and people have incredibly low attention span
And if you think that I am exaggerating watch someone scroll through tik-tok
And also just make sure that your website looks professional overall
And that you have an SSL lock on your website and all that good stuff
Write blog posts that have at least 1000 words
You need to start writing blog posts that have at least 1000 words
Google will rank your website higher if your blog posts has a lot of words in them
And the general rule is writing blog posts that have at least 1000 words
A lot of people claim that this has changed and you actually need to write somewhere between 1800 words
But I think that 1000 words should be good enough
Google want’s to rank good high quality blog posts higher
Because they want to be an effective search engine
They want to help people find their answers
And when a blog posts has a lot of words it usually tells them that this is a high quality blog posts that has good information in it
That’s why they are more likely to rank a how to start a blog tutorial that has 7000 words
Higher then the how to start a blog tutorial that has 400 words
But if you are actually just typing 7000 words that are complete garbage
Then google will find that out and you won’t rank any higher
You have to actually say something with your words don’t just type random stuff for google
That is why if you are writing a blog post and you have covered everything and there is nothing left to say
But the blog post is still only 867 words
Then just publish it and don’t worry about it
Don’t ruin your blog posts by filling it with random words for google seo
Just try your best to increase the words in your blog post
Because there is a not a lot of chance for you if your blog posts are only 300-400 words
